At AIMS, we are committed to aiding victims in their pursuit of justice through legal channels, whether by offering supportive accompaniment and coordination during legal proceedings or by intervening directly in their cases. SCAR Approach: Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO)

Child Sexual Abuse is continuing in our society and it is destroying children’s lives cruelly. Most of the time, child sexual abuse will not go away with a single incident. It will take place regularly as a gradual process.
We should learn the early warning signs of the children and take effective steps to stop the child sexual abuse before it starts or before a child is affected. As adults, we must take up the primary responsibility to prevent child sexual abuse by addressing the children’s concerns immediately to reduce the risk to our child’s life.
AIMS provides support for children who were sexually abused. We ensure that the offenders get punished and victims get justice in each of these cases. Counselling is also provided to the victims and their families. AIMS first procedure is to help the families in signing an intervention petition or being a support person appointed by Child Welfare Committee.

Our Approach:

CASE IDENTIFICATION

SUPPORT TO THE SURVIVOR & THEIR FAMILY

The AIMS team aids in filing FIRs, offers physical and emotional support to children during police investigations and court appearances, accompanies parents to hospitals, facilitates government compensation, and provides long-term support by checking in with survivors via calls or home visits.

COUNSELING

We have a team of child psychologists who will utilize therapeutic techniques to aid victim in healing, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and rebuilding their sense of self-worth.

The Child Welfare Committee will appoint AIMS team for supporting, or victims request for our intervention in cases. Our advocate councils provide free legal assistance to survivors and their families until a judgment is given.

EDUCATION & FINANCIAL SUPPORT

The AIMS team supports survivors with all basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, medical expenses, and education. We provide continuous support throughout their educational journey.

REHABILITATION

Based on the need of the victim, we provide legal support along with educational aid. In many cases, if the victim has been abused by his/her own family member/s, then we provide guardianship to the victim, that includes, education aid, and all other financial support.
